This is a volunteer project. We collect as little as we can and never sell any of it.
What we collect
Your name, email address and ZIP code.
What we publish
Your first name and your state, on the signer wall, and the total number of signers. Your email address, your last name and your ZIP code are never published. A name that contains a link, a number or certain words still counts, but it doesn't appear on the wall.
What Congress gets
After the election, the letter goes to every Democrat in Congress. With it go the total, the number of signers in each state, and the signer list as first name and state. That's the same thing the public wall shows. Your email and ZIP code stay with us.
What we do with your email
We send you one thank-you email when you sign. We'll occasionally update you with any important news about this project. After the election, we may email you about the letter and what Congress does with it. That's all we use it for.
IP addresses
To stop one person signing a hundred times, we mix your IP address with a secret value and keep only a one-way hash. The IP address itself is never stored, and the hash can't be turned back into one.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read. It doesn't use cookies or anything else stored in your browser, and Cloudflare doesn't fingerprint visitors or follow them across other sites. There are no tracking pixels and no advertising cookies.
Who else handles your data
Cloudflare hosts the site, stores the signer list, runs the anti-bot check on the form, and counts visits. Resend delivers our email. The fonts come from Google Fonts, which means Google sees the IP address of anyone who loads the site. That's the whole list. We don't sell, rent, trade or share your information with anyone.
Leaving
Every email has a link at the bottom. From there you can stop the emails and keep your name on the letter, or remove your name too. Your email app's own Unsubscribe button stops the emails and leaves your name on. You can also reply to any email, or write to [email protected], and we'll do it for you. You don't have to explain why.
When you remove your name, we delete your signature and your email. A copy can sit in our encrypted backups until they age out. It never goes back on the site, because every time we restore a backup we take removed people out first.
Changes
If we change how any of this works, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If the change matters, we'll email you about it.
